Punjab Council of The Arts (PUCAR)<\/strong> is an autonomous organization operating under the Information and Culture Department, Government of Punjab<\/strong>. Its mission is to promote Arts, Culture, and Literature across the Punjab Province of Pakistan. <\/strong>Established in 1975, PUCAR <\/strong>was created to support the promotion, patronage, and development of Art and Culture, along with all related matters within Punjab. <\/span><\/span>All organizational activities are carried out in accordance with the PUCAR Act of 1975<\/a> and the Regulations of 2020<\/a>.<\/span><\/p><\/article>\n \n The Board of Governors<\/a><\/span> and Executive Committee<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> of PUCAR include notable literary, intellectual, and artistic figures, as well as public representatives. Under the PUCAR Act of 1975, divisional and district arts councils are required to be established to advance art and cultur<\/span>e, provide facilities and exposure to artists and artisans, extend financial assistance, and offer platforms that encourage their creative growth.<\/p><\/p><\/p><\/p><\/p><\/p><\/p><\/article>\n PUCAR\u2019s Head Office is located in Lahore, serving as the central administrative hub and overseeing cultural activities and events across the Lahore Division, making Lahore both the cultural and administrative capital of the Council. <\/p>\n The Lahore Division, known as the \u201cHeart of Pakistan<\/strong>,\u201d holds immense cultural significance as the home of C<\/b>lassical music<\/strong>, Q<\/b>awwali<\/strong>, Punjabi literature<\/strong>, and Mughal heritage. <\/strong>It features major landmarks such as Shalimar Gardens, Lahore Fort, Badshahi Mosque, Hazuri Bagh, and the Open Air Theater.<\/p>\n Kasur further enriches the region with the shrine of Baba Bulleh Shah<\/strong>, while Sheikhupura adds historical value through Hiran Minar<\/strong>.
